On May 5, we celebrated a very special moment: Prescott’s 60th anniversary. More than a commemoration, it was a time to honor the passing of time and, above all, the building of a community united by values, effort, and a love for education.
The ceremony began with a performance by our Preschool students, who portrayed fauns in an enchanted forest. Then, a student, playing the narrator, awoke on a rock to tell us a metaphor about the beginning of everything: a seed.
Next, three characters entered, representing the three founding cultures of our school: Peru, the United States, and England. Dressed in ceremonial attire in the colors of their respective flags, they approached the seed (played by a young girl) to nurture it and guide it to the theater stage, where it was symbolically planted. In doing so, they ignited the roots, and the story began to grow.
The scene came to life with dancers holding fabric, while a stem grew in the background. To the rhythm of a special song, the fabrics descended from above, forming an octagon with seven iridescent veils, symbolizing a living tent, while the dancers performed a final choreography. The scene concluded with the fully formed tree.
That tree is Prescott. Like the seeds we plant every day, each step we take forms the roots of a greater, stronger future filled with possibilities. This symbol reminds us that although challenges may arise, our roots are strong and drive us to walk the path of excellence.
Let us continue walking together, with the same love and commitment, toward a future full of new achievements and learning.
Happy 60 Anniversary, Prescott!
