Blended Learning
We are aware that our students are digital natives, therefore their learning takes place in a mixed setting, between face-to-face and virtual situations.
We have tools that allow students to build on their learning in different ways with the use of technology in combination with face-to-face sessions. This makes it possible that the teacher can work at the pace and learning style of each of their students since they use several communication means and this creates a balance between the potential of one student and that of their peers.
In every class, there is a television screen and a computer to provide such exploration; in addition, our students, during school hours, frequently visit the media center to carry our research.
We also have tablets for students and teachers to use along with high-quality projectors, intelligent boards and mimios to ensure the most comprehensive work in class. In this way, we take into account not only classwork, but also virtual and mobile work.
Chromebooks: A new and modern learning tool at Prescott
An important step in our school to incorporate technology to our classrooms, effective this year, our students of 7th grade are using “Chromebooks”, portable computers using the operating system created by Google. Their light weight, durability, speed and a user-friendly OS make them the ideal tool for an educational setting.
In this way, our students, who gradually moved from using texts to several resources, are not using notebooks or reading books anymore, which promotes their learning in a digital environment.
This year we started with students of 7th grade, so that the other years will gradually continue using this tool until they complete their school studies.
